I had such a great time staying at Linnas in Kanazawa as part of the coliving programme. I met so many interesting people from around the world and found Kanazawa to be the perfect city for a creative digital nomad, with its galleries, museums, crafts and even a gold leaf workshop. Linnas itself feels like a home away from home – beautifully designed, cosy, with a kitchen, coworking space, workout area and even a sauna! The programme even led me to collaborate with a local business which was an amazing experience. Aki and his team are wonderful – highly recommended!

The coliving program in Kanazawa was an incredible way to begin to grasp the differences of each region in Japan. Running along the river each morning, hiking up the hills to overlook the city, I could appreciate the interaction of the urban sprawl with the nature engulfing it. Attending a tea ceremony, learning to make sushi in a 100 year old ryokan, exploring the working spaces, the markets, meeting with local artisans, I could see myself creating deep connections with locals, other travellers, and could envision a world where I spent even longer here. I would come back again in a heartbeat because I know beyond the surface of Kanazawa, beyond the two weeks I spent here, the art, the creativity, the heartbeat of this town, is something that stays with you long after, attuning you to a world rooted in its history.

I had such an amazing time at the Urban Retreat in beautiful Kanazawa. The whole vibe was super chill, the staff were so kind and welcoming, and the city itself is just stunning. It was the perfect little escape to slow down and reset. If I ever plan a getaway again, this will 100% be at the top of my list. Can’t wait to come back!
